nov 21 whenever was the prompt, but i looked at it once and then ruminated on 'whatever,' so that's what i wrote instead. not sure it's worth keeping, but if i do, it needs a title.

we say of books, movies,
the punchline of a joke.
The prize, the crown,
the finish line -- all come
at the end of effort.
